Meet the Team

Lawrence wilmott director / chief executive officer / head of operations

From Melbourne, Lawrence started flying straight out of school in 2011. As the Chief Executive Officer and Head of Operations, Lawrence works with Quality Manager Adrian Catimel, guiding the business on a daily basis. Whether it be communicating directly with CASA, company instructors, clients or students, he has a strong passion to make sure the training environment at Aerosphere is of an extremely high standard. Entering his 14th year of flying in addition to managing Aerosphere he also works for one of Australia’s major airlines flying the Boeing 787.

He is fortunate enough to bring to the role extensive experience in the training realm as a Flight Instructor teaching airline cadets, check and training captain experience on Metroliner’s for an Australian regional airline and as a flight examiner with approval to conduct ATPL, IFR and MEA Flight Tests. 

Adrian catimel director / quality manager

Adrian’s aviation career began as a flight instructor in Melbourne, teaching both local and international students from ab-initio through to Multi-IFR flight training. He is fortunate to have gained experience in passenger carrying operations on both the Metroliner and Boeing 717 aircraft, and currently flies for a major Australian airline. 

With additional expertise in CASA key-personnel roles in both Safety and Quality Assurance, as well as experience in the rail sector with Yarra Trams, Adrian combines both his passion for teaching with his experience in Australian commercial aviation to help deliver Aerosphere’s industry leading simulator training.

  • Matt is an experienced flight instructor with a passion for teaching and sharing real-world aviation knowledge.

    With a background as a training captain on Metroliner’s for a regional airline, Matt gained invaluable multi-crew experience before transitioning to his current role flying the Airbus A320/A321 on both domestic and international routes for a major Australian airline.

    Matt brings his extensive operational experience into the classroom, enhancing ATPL and MCC training programs by offering practical insights and real-world application. His commitment to fostering a deep understanding of aviation helps students develop the skills necessary to succeed in their aviation journey.

  • Harry has almost a decade of multi crew experience across multiple airlines in Australia and overseas. Harry has operated both Boeing and Airbus aircraft in short and long haul operations, and currently operates the A320/1 for an Australian airline. He has previously flown the B747 as an international freight pilot, and the B717 and CRJ in passenger operations.  

    Before working as an airline pilot, Harry worked as a Flight Instructor. He combines his teaching background with his airline experience to deliver quality material to students looking to improve their skillset through the MCC course, or upgrading their licence to an ATPL.

  • Michael brings an extensive level of Multi Crew experience to Aerosphere, having commenced regional airline flying in 2012. Operating Metroliners and Jetstream 32s in Australia and Sub Saharan Africa before returning home for command training on the Metroliner.

    Currently working for a major Australian airline, Michael commenced on the Airbus A320 in 2018. He now operates internationally on the Boeing 787.

    Michael brings practical experience and a calm demeanour to the simulator. He enjoys the opportunity to pass on his own experience to the coming generation of both Australian and the wider world’s future airline pilots.

  • Michael’s passion for aviation started at the age of 14 when he first learned to fly. After completing his training in Melbourne, he worked as a flight instructor and spent three rewarding years teaching students of all ages, including airline cadets, university students, and hobby pilots. Michael specialised in multi-engine IFR training and loved helping students achieve their flying goals.

    Later moving into the airline world, Michael flew Metroliners for a regional airline in Australia. Michael enjoyed the opportunity working as a training captain further refining his instructing techniques in a multi crew environment.

    Currently, Michael is a first officer for a major Australian airline on the Boeing 737 based out of Melbourne.

    With his experience in both instruction and real-world airline operations, he aims to make the training experience as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. He enjoys sharing practical knowledge from his time on the 737, helping each student work towards their career goal.
