Brisbane is Queensland’s capital and has been a significant aviation centre since the earliest days of Australian commercial flying. Pilots undertaking pilot training in Brisbane are training in a city with real aviation heritage, home to some of the earliest interstate and international air services in the country. Aerosphere runs its Brisbane courses at a dedicated simulator facility, giving candidates structured MCC and ATPL flight test training without needing to travel interstate.

Brisbane Airport is Queensland’s major international and domestic gateway. Archerfield Airport, Brisbane’s original airport, dates back to 1929 and served as the base for the city’s earliest interstate and international air traffic until 1949, including some of the earliest operations of what would become Qantas. Archerfield remains Queensland’s major general aviation hub today, home to more flying schools and aviation operators than any other airport in the state.
